CCS Appreciation Week!
So apparently this week it's Center for Cartoon Studies appreciation week, where all my friends (check out their links to the right and see what I mean) have been waxing poetic about how this school is AMAZING.
Sitting in this Bertucci's restaurant in Boston (across from the uber douchey bar "Clarkes") is where I found about CCS. A very pregnant friend told me. I went back to my cubicle....saw the website, and it was like love. I had to go.
When I applied, my art looked like this:
Yeah. I mean, it looks a lot like what I do now but I couldn't do anything except lifeless people, so I didn't think I was going to get in. In fact, in my portfolio review, I was told that I had "obvious hurdles." When I got in, I couldn't believe it. =)
I left a lucrative and decent financial job to go to CCS. I also left Boston, a city I had really enjoyed but Vermont -- is amazing. So it's okay.
I have learned SO much at CCS. It was the best decision I have ever made in my life. I now know what I want to do with my life and CCS made that possible. The teachers are amazing, my classmates are all wonderful people, and I am having the best time. When I graduate in May, I'm going to be so sad.
Here's a montage of fun!!
